Swansea In Gloom Walking Tours

Join Swansea In Gloom’s chief storyteller on a walking tour through the olde town and beyond. Learn about Swansea’s darkest secrets of murder, superstitions, debauchery and ghosts that lurk in every alleyway, as we unearth stories from the medieval past up until the mid 20th Century. You won’t see the city the same way again after you’ve heard these tales, as Olde Swansea is raised from the ashes of history.

Introduction to Psychotherapy

Tuesday 19th March 13:30 to 15:00

Talking therapies are much more prevalent and accessible than they once were, and many more people are finding time to talk to a professional when they need to. Despite this, there are lots of misconceptions and confusion about what psychotherapy is.

Have you ever wondered about trying therapy but seem unsure about what it is or how it works? Does it seem scary or just for other people?

This workshop is an introduction to psychotherapy, run by psychotherapist Kate Holcombe.

Rather than being an information session it will be a chance to explore what it is like to talk to others about something you choose giving you an idea of what therapy could be like.

Tickets are £15

NEXUS – Story Performance and Q&A

Wednesday 20th March from 19:30
A special evening of entertainment as part of the Week of Wellness at HQ Urban Kitchen.
“From the chaos of lock-down a story emerges. Stories within stories lead from rural Wales to sub-tropical Florida, where unrelated events connect to reveal the greatest of consequences from the smallest of actions.”
Blending myth, personal narrative and true story, Carl will transport you to the wilderness of the Florida Everglades, jumping through time to encounter vivid true life stories that saved this truly unique ecosystem; a performance where truth really is stranger than fiction!
The show is an exploration, a convergence where everything is connected to everything else and the more you look the more you find. This storytelling performance holds a mirror up to our current times revealing solutions from our past and encouraging us to see the power we are gifted through a simple choice – to do something or do nothing.
Following the performance there will be an opportunity for an informal Q&A and discussion, responding to the themes and issues raised in Nexus and to consider the role of storytelling and the natural world in our individual and collective well being.
Doors open from 6.30pm – Food and refreshments available to order at counter
