What are your opening days and hours?

Presently we are open Monday – Saturday 9am – 4pm (food served 9am – 3pm).

Times differ for events and bank holidays so check Facebook or Instagram before visiting.

How do I find you?

Our address is HQ Urban Kitchen, The Old Police Station, Llys Glas, 37 Orchard Street SA1 5AJ. One of our entrances is next to the NCP carpark on Orchard Street. Or walk past the glass Alex Building (UWTSD) on Alexandra Road (towards the train station) go through the wrought iron gates and you’ll see our entrance.

Can I park nearby?

Orchard Street NCP is next door to us, accessed off Orchard Street, there is also on street parking (time limited) available on Alexandra Road. There are also several on-street disabled spaces immediately adjacent to us on Alexandra Road, Orchard Street and Pleasant Street.

How else can I travel to you?

There are regular bus services with stops on both Alexandra Road and Orchard Street and we are a few hundred metres from Swansea Train Station. We also encourage you to walk or cycle if you can! There is secure cycle storage adjacent to the venue on Orchard Street at its junction with Pleasant Street.

Do you cater for vegans and gluten free?

We certainly do. Check the menu for our vegan and gluten free options.

What plant milks do you serve?

We have Oat, Coconut, Soya and Almond milk.

Can we book a table in advance?

We have plenty of tables inside and outside, so there is no need to book in advance. If you are a large group of 6+ and would prefer to book, send us an email and we will reserve you a table info@hqurbankitchen.co.uk

Can I bring my dog?

We love dogs! We have a large outside area and we also allow dogs to sit inside in front of the counter. Please respect other customers by not allowing your dog to sit on the seating. Ask at the counter if you would like some water for your dog.

Do you have highchairs?

We are very child friendly and have a limited number of highchairs available. Just ask at the counter.

Is your space accessible?

Our space is fully wheelchair friendly. If you need any assistance, please ask at the counter.

How much is it to hire HQ Urban Kitchen?

The basic rate is £30 per hour (please enquire about additional costs). You can request a quote by completing this form.

What days/times can I hire HQ Urban Kitchen?

Some evenings and Sundays. It is dependent on other events we may be holding.

Do you offer any extras for hire?

Bar, drinks, food, PA costs will all be quoted separately. Some evening hires will need a security presence which we can arrange. You can request a quote by completing this form.

Is it okay to work in HQ Urban Kitchen?

It certainly is. We have plenty of space and sockets. All we ask is that you buy the odd drink from us. And we serve delicious snacks and food if all that hard work makes you hungry.

Do you have free Wifi?

Our Wifi is free and pretty good (if we say so ourselves!).

How do I contact you?

We are a small and busy team so would prefer you to email info@hqurbankitchen.co.uk

We can’t always monitor messages sent on social media, so please use the email address.

How do we order drinks or food when we get there?

Order at the counter.

Do you offer takeaway drinks or food?

Yes, all our soft drinks and food can be ordered to take away. Just ask at the counter when you order.

Is your takeaway packaging environmentally friendly?
Yes, we are passionate about sustainability and our environment. All our takeaway packaging is eco-friendly and compostable. Even the ink we use in our HQ stamp.
What payment methods do you take?

Cash, all major credit cards and Apple Pay.

Do you offer any discounts?

University students (show your Uni ID card) and Blue Light Card holders can get 10% off all hot drinks.

Do you have an alcohol licence?

Yes, we are fully licensed to serve alcohol (from 12pm).

Who runs HQ Urban Kitchen?

HQ Urban Kitchen was set up by Urban Foundry, Swansea’s first BCorp. Like the street markets project, HQ has been set up as a separate not for profit company – a social enterprise. What do I do if I have a complaint?

We don’t always get it right and we apologise in advance if things don’t go to plan. Please email info@hqurbankitchen.co.uk and we will get back to you within 2 working days.
